What it is
The server answers three kinds of questions: what a 2026 paycheck looks like in one of 12 states, what an hourly wage is as gross pay, and what a freelancer owes on 1099 income. The address is https://mcp.auracalcs.com/mcp. The transport is Streamable HTTP. There is no sign-in and no API key. Every tool is read-only.
The hostname root, https://mcp.auracalcs.com/, only points at that endpoint. Calculations for the website still run in your browser. This server is the same math, for an MCP client.
Demo video
A short recording of live calls to the server: the tool list, five example estimates, and three requests it declines. No sound.
Add it in Claude
In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then add a custom connector. Paste https://mcp.auracalcs.com/mcp. Leave authentication off. The menu names can differ by Claude version. If you do not see those exact words, look for the place where Claude asks for a remote MCP server URL.
Add it in another MCP client
Choose a remote server, Streamable HTTP, and the same URL. Do not send a token. If the client asks for a command to run on your computer, this server is not that kind. It is already on the network.

calculate_quarterly_estimated_tax
Applies the IRS safe harbor rules (90% of this year's tax, or 100% or 110% of last year's) and lists the four 2026 due dates. Same math as the quarterly estimated tax calculator.
compare_1099_vs_w2

What a response includes
learnMoreUrl, a link to the matching page on auracalcs.comsources, the publication name and URL used for that resultcheckedOn, the date those figures were checkeddisclaimer, stating that the result is an estimate and not tax, legal, or financial advice- The paycheck lines, or the gross-pay lines for the hourly tool
Paycheck figures are taken from the publications named in the response. For a New York estimate those include IRS Publication 15-T (2026) and NYS-50-T-NYS (2026). Every other state names its own publications the same way, including Alaska unemployment insurance, Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave, and WA Cares. The hourly tool names only the gross-pay page, because it does not apply a tax rate.
Limits
- Paycheck states: California, New York, Illinois, Texas, Florida, Nevada, Tennessee, Wyoming, South Dakota, Alaska, New Hampshire, and Washington. New York estimates single and married filing jointly, and exemptions from 0 to 10.
- Tax year: 2026 withholding methods only.
- Texas, Florida, Nevada, Tennessee, Wyoming, South Dakota, Alaska, New Hampshire, and Washington state income tax is $0.00. Federal income tax and FICA still apply. Alaska adds employee unemployment insurance. Washington adds Paid Family and Medical Leave and WA Cares.
- The result is an estimate, not tax advice, not a filing, and not a determination of tax owed.
